Academic Report

...and you will know them by their fruits...

One full year of research, interviews across over a dozen families from GCC, both active and inactive as of the commissioning of this report, extending from the role of elders and administrators all the way down to parishioners and youths, Master’s Seminary Representatives and the President of Founders Ministries, and over 1,000 hours of therapeutic interventions which are ongoing, comprise the scope of this report’s summary of findings. As of the writing of this report, over 200 congregants have been displaced so far, as a direct result of GCC’s coercion and totalistic practices. This report, commissioned by families recovering from their time at GCC and concerned by the ongoing harm to congregants who remain there, describes how the leadership structure at GCC has organized itself in a way that permits, facilitates, and perpetuates abuse toward the congregation, especially the youth.

The "Abuse Document"

One of the more disturbing policies GCC has been willing to put in writing is what the elders descriptively titled "GCC Elder’s Statement on Physical and Emotional Abuse in Relation to Divorce and Remarriage" (included as Appendix F in the academic report offered above). This statement has been removed from the GCC website at the time of this writing, but we were able to recover a copy. We leave it to the reader to judge if this document represents a moral, biblical approach to issues of marital abuse.
